My name is Yousuf, and I’ve been in the landscaping industry for almost half my life. I started out working for local companies in the GTA, mostly doing physical labor like digging and general landscaping, no power washing at all.

About four years ago, I had a choice: keep doing what I was doing or take a new path. Landscaping in my area was booming, and I noticed a growing demand for maintenance services, especially power washing. It required minimal investment but had a high return, so I decided to start my own company, Interlock Inc, specializing in power washing and sealing pavers and concrete.

The first year was tough. I had no experience in this specific trade and had to build an entirely new client list from scratch. But by the second year, business started to take off. Even though I was making less revenue than some friends with contracting businesses, my profit margins were much higher, allowing me to scale faster. I reinvested in the business, bought multiple power washers, got my first truck, and kept expanding.

Over time, I helped a few friends start their own power washing businesses, including one in Egypt, who used to work with me during the summers.

In 2024, I decided to launch a course to share everything I’ve learned and recently created a community where people in this industry can connect, share experiences, and help each other grow.
